Annual Fundraising Events

We realize that budgets are tight everywhere and want to let families know that B.E.S.T. annually holds two fundraisers.  The first fundraising event is the Bulldog Jog in September, where we learn about physical fitness and health eating habits. The second annual fundraiser is, Are You Smarter than a Birch Bulldog.  This event reinforces current content knowledge and allows students to demonstrate mastery of previously learned content. These fundraisers provide families a break from the traditional product sales and further facilitate our school's educational mission.

  • Bulldog Jog- Fall 2012 Fundraiser:  The Bulldog Jog is Birch’s fall fundraising event.  Donations will buy library books, computer equipment and software and classroom resource materials. Help our school and encourage fitness! Parents are welcome to help cheer and support our students and teachers during the Bulldog Jog.  This event is typically held in September. Students will complete a one-mile course (grades 1-5) or a 100-yard course (grades PreK & K).  Our goal is safety, fitness and fun while raising funds for our school!  For up-to-date information, click on the "Events Page".   Last year we raised over $11,000 and had a blast. The 2012 Bulldog Jog is scheduled for Friday, September 28.
  •
  • Scholastic Book Fair:  Its the annual Birch Fall Book Fair offering specially priced books and educational products, including new releases, award-winning titles, childrens classics, interactive software, adult books, and current bestsellers.  In order to make this event a success, we need your help! The book fair is scheduled for October 16, 17, & 18th
  • Are You Smarter Than A Birch Bulldog- Spring 2013 Fundraiser:  Birch’s spring fundraising event is a fun game of academic trivia.  Our goal is to promote partnership, academic excellence, and collaborative work while raising funds for our school! The fundraiser has two components: an individual learning and a school-climate/community event. This event is scheduled for March 1st.

Birch Family Dinner Nights 2012-2013

Hungry? We all need to eat, so why not bring out the family for a fun evening dinner event and help raise money for Birch Elementary while you eat? These are easy, voluntary fundraisers that we hope will be lots of fun for family and friends. All you need to do is come eat, (and invite friends and neighbors too!) local restaurants do the rest by donating a portion of their proceeds for the night. Look for more restaurants and dinner night details throughout the school year.  The 2011-2012 school year family dinner nights raised $4,220.29!

Ongoing Fundraising Efforts

In addition to our annual fundraising events, there are many ways to support Birch Elementary.

  •  King Sooper Reloadable Gift Cards: Purchase a reloadable King Sooper gift card from the BEST.  With each purchase, 5% goes directly to Birch.  Simply reload the card at the customer service desk or before checking-out each time you purchase groceries.  Our school is averaging nearly $500/month- keep reloading!

  • Box Tops For Education: Birch Elementary participates in the Box Tops for Education program. By clipping the small box top coupon off participating products and turning in your coupons, Birch can earn $.10 for each box top collected.  Birch is issued two checks per year, in December and April.  Money collected through the Box Tops for Education program is divided between physical education and music education. Look for Box Top collection bins near the main entrance.  For more information about Box Tops for Education, go to www.boxtops4education.com.  Kathleen Backer is the 2012-2013 Birch Elementary Box Top Coordinator.

  • Target- "Take Charge of Education":  By using your Target RedCard (credit or check card), Target will donate 1% of all purchases to Birch Elementary. Birch Elementary will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program. The most recent Target donation to Birch Elementary (August 2010) was $980.07!   It's easy. Just visit www.target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better.

·         Find out how much money our school has already received at target.com/tcoe.

·         Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.
